Quite early on, the name catechesis was given to the totality of the Church's efforts to make disciples, to help people believe that Jesus is the Son of God so that believing they might have life in his name, and to educate and instruct them in this life, thus building up the Body of Christ (Catechism of the Catholic Church no. 4).
To these efforts Epiphany Cathedral supports all catechetical ministries and programming ensuring that parishioners have the opportunity to grow in their faith. The USCCB indicates, “The ministry of catechesis fosters growth in Catholic faith in all three dimensions—trusting (heart), knowing and believing (mind), and doing (will).”

Epiphany Cathedral has many councils and committees that oversee and provide leadership that benefit our faith community. Leadership in the church is a vital role that involves serving, guiding, and equipping God's people for His purposes and glory.
The Commissioning of the Disciples is clearly indicated in Matthew 28: 16 “The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Welcome! Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another. Our liturgies utilize the talents and gifts that God has fully given this community. Whether participation is through "behind the scenes" preparing and planning or through a public role of service within the Mass, parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations. Please prayerfully consider joining one of these ministries.
If you would like to consider learning more about, or joining the Liturgical Ministries team, please call the Parish Office at (941) 484-3505.
Spiritual growth is the journey of growing in faith to know more about God, to become the person that He created each of us to be, and to become a disciple while helping others on their own spiritual journey. Epiphany Cathedral takes this responsibility to heart in all the programs and ministries offered here. All the ministries in this category offer programming and regular meetings to assist others in engaging and growing in their faith life.

Do you have a servant leadership hear? Servant leadership is leading like Jesus. Matthew 20: 28 indicates “Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom or many.” We can also look at John 13, as Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. We are to be of service to others, the mission, and the vision of our Lord.
The service ministries take to heart the message of servant leadership. If you would like additional information, please contact one of the ministry leaders.
